Cold + Feet + Hands May Equal Yang Deficiency - 03 Apr 2010

What’s good my brahs?

Three new things.

#1 Soy Boy Part 1

QM’s first ever Claymation!

Here is a description that is out of context and should be rewritten.

My film concerns a disillusioned protagonist's search for relief.  He is lured into eating sushi and uses it to fill his existential gap.  There is a major disconnect from him and his food.  He does not know how it is produced and who is providing him with it.  As a result, because he experiences this fault at the basic level of survival, the disconnect inevitably leaks into every part of his life.  In today's world, most people living in so-called "advanced", technological societies have no connection with nature. Thus, they are cut off from one of the most indispensable facets of life, their energy source, food. They do not realize that they are not apart from nature, although it may appear that way; that they are simply extensions of the cosmos that they grew out of. Since they are cut off from the staple of life that grows from the ground, it is no wonder they do not understand their own source of growth.

The phrase "indispensable extension" also relates to the unrecognized relationship between those that the protagonist and his enigmatic oppressors represent. The poor have no awareness of the artificial system which they help to perpetuate, through consumption and complacency. The upper classes more consciously try to perpetuate the system because it lends itself to their comfortable living situation. But while being more aware of the workings of the society, the rich still see the poor as "others" to be manipulated, when in fact rich and poor are inseparable, two sides of the same coin. "Victim" and "Oppressor" are in reality indispensable extensions of each other.”

#2 Birdies Show 7

This sounds like the surprise baby of WFMU’s old show The Audio Kitchen and Joe Frank.  That’s right, a bunch of found sound overlapping music, conversations and of course, Bruce Lee.

#3 it’s Plummy!

Everyone’s favorite sociopath comic strip character.

I am most likely only speaking to Viagra selling spambots.  This is certainly due to the lack of updates.  This and the disappearance of our sheepish fans rendered QM sapless.

When the QM Enterprise first arose, we had already created half a year’s supply of material.  These were to be released incrementally for public consumption.  Things slowed down however when sleep depravity disrupted young Peter’s rigorous schedule.  Along with my inability to understand the most basic of HTML language, QM had no choice but to halt its internet activities.

How to solve this two-dickie dilemma?

#1 Help spread the word.  Without fans, we are nothing.  We cannot be expected to squander our youth away without some acknowledgement.  It’s not fair!  We are one hundred percent certified to heal pornography addiction!

#2 Contribute.  Without participants, we could never meet the demands of the masses for weekly updates.  Whether it is imitations of Obama posters or a reciting of Anna Karenina.  All will be considered.  But please, no cat related material.  That is our only restriction!

#3 Comment.  Someone tell me I am special.  This is really the least you could do.

By the way, Peter and I are living on at HollenGold farm so there will be nothing new for a long time.

Molding the Godly Clay - 20 Feb 2010

A Clay Man Howdy,

We have for you today Jerry Seinfeld’s love advice.  When your relationship’s in a rut, Jerry says “Who cares, as long as you get some pussy.”

Now:

We also have a new edition of Plum Cake, the comic.  Yes the QM team still has not yet determined plummies exact facial features and proportions.  Bear with us.  He is still quite a candid fellow none-the-less.Go There.

The Forrest vaults have opened up once again in the mule’s Lair with yet another classic rendition of something. QM believes it is a bout ponies. Go There.

The literature section welcomes a new story, one about foxes.  Yes some have called “Hammond the Fox King” a grotesque, old-fashioned fairy tale, not the lighthearted Disney fluff.  So be warned, children just might start asking mom to bake kidneys, or stab their dog.  Go There.

Later:

As mentioned in the previous post, I am in the process of creating my first Claymation (see the pic of the figure on the side).  The film will have some resemblance to Looney Tunes and Neverhood but with less technical thought put into it and too much unneeded symbolism thrown in I say.  I never finished the majority of my computer animated projects.  I get stuck in the detail of individual frames.  This time I’ll focus on the story and not give a shit whether my klay man walks flawlessly.  It is going to be a tough one.

And get this. There may even be a game brewing at Quiet Mule studios! It will feature a bison, or an animule that looks like a bison, walking around in his little world. Many things may happen to this character, and it’s up to you to make sure that some of those things happen. Yeah!

And finally, we are working on editing an audio show for all those good ears. Stay TUNED.

Now Quit pestering us!  Why don’t you help out (click here.) Lazy Bastard.

A Stove Full of Treats - 24 Jan 2010

A New Peter!

Whats up.

Now:

At present there are only a few minor touches added to our esteemed collection.

We bring you a unique animated journey to everyone’s favorite genocide in Darfur.  This is not some immature adultswim cartoon; it is aimed at an actual adult audience.  You have been warned.  View it in the Animation Section.

A new section for comics has been added that does not have the sustainability of Plum Cake. Therefore, they can only be drawn once!  View it in the Comic Section.

Next, Peter’s painting career suffocated after this first and only piece entitled “Beggar Chris”.  View it in the Paintings Section.

The short film To Warm A Stove has been circulating the film festivals.  Pitifully, It has no awards under its belt…  That is because the new edition of To Warm A Stove won all of them!  It is up now. View Version 2 Here, in the Movies Section.

Later:

You could say the main focus of the site is to promote original modern literature and art.  That is why Peter has written a fairytale about a blind fox king that eats humans,  accompanied by an illustration by me. Eventually the Vey brothers will compile a book.

Have you ever heard of the radio show Night People?  No?  Well there’s a good reason; its on at 2 in the morning.  Peter will be premiering its remastered theme song as a music video.  Night People The Animated Series!  Stay tuned.

A new illustration, which has been gathering dirt in the old mule’s hole has finally resurfaced, thanks to Bakey Man’s incessant pestering.  The Quiet Mule is not an art aficionado of any sort, but he knows a J. Forrest Vey charcoal rendering of a clown when he sees one.  It was supposedly realized in the mid 1900’s on the stoop of Cooper Square.  There are many clowns in that area, enjoy.  .

You want more stuff?  How about I post a pic of the armature I’m building for QM Productions first ever claymation!  Next time, losers.

Success - 11 Jan 2010

Hey. So we finally did it. We finally made this site good-looking, put up two workin' blogs, and made the updates consistent. If that isn't success on the internet, then I ask you, what is? Before I get to the bulk of this news post, I would like to explain just how this news feed works. It is simple. I explain what we updated recently, and then go into future plans and aspirations. Really, we just want everyone to have high hopes! Without hope, what would we DO? Send us those good vibes, baby.

Now: Plum Cake is a new syndicated comic made on recycled paper (we use scraps!), and as far as we can see, there will be a new issue every two weeks. On the off-weeks, a one-time comic will be posted. Of course. Prophecies and The Companion will be updated at least every three days. In fact, there's new posts on BOTH OF THESE. In the Sounds section, we recently put up Audio Theater, where you, the QM fan, will find a new mp3 of Reverend Davis' Prayer Lectures. Quite entertaining and informative.

Later: Me and Chris are in the process of working on a book of fairy tales, or fantasy stories, or whatever you want to call it, which I will write and Chris will illustrate. I really hate both of those terms, however, so I will just call them Vey Tales for now, although that's pretty terrible as well. I just finished working on an eleven page one entitled "Hammond The Fox-King." Are you enticed? We also recently came up with an idea for a game about Lao Tzu's crazy antics in the hills of China. That Game section is barren, so I shall get working on that soon. And, as always, animations are in development. By the way, I'd like to inform you of a new section that will be added to the site soon, called Bellows. The purpose of this section will be to fuel a sense of community, and will serve as the embers from which the eventual Quiet Mule Commune shall develop. Besides this, it will serve as a source of spiritual information, communication, and expression. If you have any ideas to offer, send an email at the Contact page.
-Peter
